YEAR 1:

Our premier HBCU Fair was hosted at the Carlisle YWCA on October 6, 2022. Founder, community member, and former educator, Dorene Wilbur, created this event to divert information about college to students of color, who are typically overlooked in traditional information channels. Ms. Wilbur is a Carlisle Borough resident and firm believer in community equity; Ms. Wilbur desires to give students of color a significant advantage through exposure and readiness. “The purpose of this uniquely necessary college fair,” states Ms. Wilbur, “is to help connect prospective college students with HBCUs across the state and country.
